3D Printshow has posted a number of videos to its website for anyone who was unable to get to the 2013 event. 3D print has really taken off this year evidenced by the 3D Printshow’s growing stature – almost 14,000 people visited London’s Business Design Centre in November. This time the organisers also decided to go international and held a Paris show at the Carrousel du Louvre just days after the London event. The third in the series is scheduled for 13 February 2014 in New York and plans are already underway for the 2014 London and Paris shows in November.
Check out the video that I produced from 2012 here and then see what people were talking about at the 2013 show below.
The first video is a guided tour of the 2013 3D Printshow and it includes action from the 3D fashion catwalk, total bodyscans from Europac 3D’s handheld system, incredible sculptures and art pieces, printed fossils and microdrones.
Second and third video contributions come from Christopher Barnatt, futurologist and author of ExplainingTheFuture.com. Barnatt’s videos have a certain geek chic and remind me of a BBC programme of yester-year called ‘Tomorrow’s World’. He takes an in-depth look at the latest commercial print technology and presents highlights from throughout the show.
Last of all is a festive 3D printer Christmas with snowflakes, gifts and knick-knacks printed by an enthusiastic hobbyist. Hope you all had a great Christmas and I wish you an incredible 2014!
